Almost every spot is taken, but no one is on the sidewalk. What gives?

4th of July celebration?

Fourth of July - look at all the flags ! They're all watching the parade, one street over.

Been there many times. I have family that lives there, about 30 minutes from here. Thanks Jay! I really like all of these pictures that you and others post even though I don't comment on all of them. Dave

It's free beer Friday, so where do you think they are!

The red brick building behind the first streetlight in the modern picture is the building halfway down the view in the old picture with a vertical "Furniture" sign. The two buildings to the right of that are still there, although one has a weird blue and orange façade. The Masonic Temple in the distance is also still there. Other buildings are tough to match up. Everything to the right of the H&R Block building is now open space.

Looks like the first four buildings from the intersection to the HR building are the same ones, but the H&R building looks completely different. Hard to say, but the next block looks pretty intact.
IT's a shame what the "remodels" have done to those two building, although I suspect the original facade might be intact under that blue facade, notice how the window openings appear to just be cut out of the material.
