Why have our links been deleted. We are long time members and deserve answers.

The link to the your catalog is still on the home page under suppliers.

Yes,even on my messed up 24kbps dial up, your links show on the supplier list.

The MTFCA board of directors had our meeting this weekend in Richmond. Contrary to one of the recent messages claiming a secret meeting, it was not. We met at a pre-announced location downtown because the museum did not have enough room for us. We had a long discussion about the recent inappropriate posts on the forum. Everyone should carefully read the information at the top of the forum. We have instructed Chris to delete inappropriate threads that attack others or are clearly political, etc. 99.9 % of the posts are educational and informative for others. A lot of people, just starting in the hobby, find the Forum very useful and when I see those few inappropriate threads I get frustrated, especially for those new participants on the Forum. Please police yourselves and before you click on Post, read what you have said and ask yourself if you would say the same thing to those folks in person. We should not have to rely on our webmaster to keep inappropriate comments off the Forum. Thank you.

An addendum to my post! I misunderstood Glen's question, as I thought he was referring to the deletion of inappropriate posts and not links under suppliers. My comments are still valid, though, with respect to the deletion of inappropriate posts.

Gary,

I don't think so...

things are not they appear:

for instance:

A firefly is not a fly – it is a beetle

A lead pencil does not contain lead – it contains graphite

(with thanks to Listverse).

Jay, you're up early!

Well,If I say it here,I will say it in your presence. But Unless someone really ticks me off, I am man enough to let things roll off my back and move forward in life. And some things could be taken care of with a pm and not spread the "stuff" all over the globe.
We as Americans should not have to quiver in fear of offending 1 or 2 out of 1000's.
This is a great forum and the club that supports it is made up of diverse membership. I hope 1 day to renew my membership but things I have read recently are not good motivators.
I hear the word tolerance used alot these days. It is used when a few are offended and expect the majority to bend to their whims. Tolerance is a 2 way street. All should learn to bend a little.

When I hear a squeaky wheel , it's bearings get thrown in the trash can and new 1's put in,with fresh grease! And the other wheels get checked and re-greased as needed.
I have learned over the years that once a bearing squeaks,it has developed a wear pattern, or habit if you will, and will squeak again much sooner than it's counter parts that haven't squeaked yet.

Mack Jeffrey,

As others have said over the years, your astute observations and words of wisdom are awesome!

May the tide of good fortune soon roll your way.

Tides? Hell....A Tusnami of good fortune!! :-)

Glad to see some of us old farts have their heads screwed on properly (notice how I said properly instead of RIGHT not to make it the least bit political! :-)

The politically correct lemmings don't RUN over the cliff these days....they take the Bus! :-):-)

I don't usually give an opinion here but I too think Mack is an astute observer.

I was reading about Martin Niemöller and this picture of an unusual car came up.

You may recall he was the author of this poem.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

It is a very interesting vehicle. The radiator has the appearance of a peerless.

Speaking of peerless when it came to common sense Harry Truman was just that. Known for no nonsense observations.

Oh please, nobody is persecuting anyone here. We're just told to be polite and stick to Model T talk, LIKE WE AGREED TO WHEN WE SIGNED ONTO THIS FORUM.

Sticks and stones can break my bones but it is words that really hurt me.

The car pictured above is very small, notice the body is as wide as the rear track and the windshield dwarfs the rest of the car.
I would guess French or German, the license plates on the two cars should give a clue.

Well I feel my rights done been trampled by a bunch of lily livered squeaky wheel liberals who want this here forum to be political correct.

I can't talk bout God and Jesus here? You peoples gonna burn in hell for denying our Creator and Savoir.

And I can't talk politics? I am a patriotic American citizen with posting privileges on this here forums. This here be the MTFC of AMERICA. AMERICA!!! First they comes for us, who they gonna come fer next? Stand up for something or you will fall for anything.

Where people learn this loss of freedom of speech is OK? Government schools? Why are you gonna allow a bunch of moderators tell you what you can post? So what if you offend a few peoples, hell they don't belong here anyway if they don't agree with you.

This be our forum, what say we take it back. Keep postin political, and don't be leaving out the Almighty which is part of what makes America great. We can do it, you betcha, we can make this here forum a bulwark against the war on Christianity and freedom of speech. Don't let the liberals win!

We are in the right, and all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Time to take action. Use this Model T forum to get the conservative religious and political messages out there.

Or could be civilized, recognize that not everyone shares our political and religious beliefs, respect the moderators who have a tough job, and make the forum welcoming to everyone, not just self-righteous, narrow minded, entitled, crybabies who feel the need to tell everyone on a Model T forum their religious and political preferences.

Larry, I am not co0ncerned about my commercial ads, I am only concerned about the club. We have individuals who care nothing about the club and only want to harm it. I will not name names because I have been threatened and called nasty names. But the club has been threatened with suite under 501(C) and that would be catastrophic financially. I will now shut up because I don't want to be banned from posting.

Don't think I'd go that far Joe. Even I, who likes to push things a bit, don't feel politics and especially religion belong here as actual topics. These things tended to bleed in a bit here & there but not as actual posted topics. Politics is volatile enough. Religion tends to be volcanic. Not necessary as a posted topic. OT lead-in or not. The post that covered the magazine article, while related to the hobby because of where it appeared, was quite civil and I had no problem with it at all. As to the "Bible" posting: It was attempting to relate to the hobby but I felt, and I believe others did too, that the Book was being misquoted and it seemed to heat up from there. Opposite opinions on that particular subject never seem to end well.

Posting here is much like posting anywhere else...be rude, bombastic, hateful, spiteful, (and many other things) and those words will prohibit your letter from being published in most any respected newspaper.

We are allowed the privilege to drive on our roads. Disregard the rules of the road...exceed the speed limit, run red lights, pass on the double yellow - all those things and more, and said privilege will be revoked.

privilege =a right or benefit that is given to some people and not to others. (Per Merriam-Webster).

So too, on this Forum - be nice or the posting privilege may be denied. (Look at the words to the right of the place to put your username and password. ..."This is a private posting area.)

Larry you indicated inappropriate posting's and monitoring. The post today on Tattoos should be wiped off and the contributor banned. Just my thought.

Joseph Bauer - You said,....."Use this Model T forum to get the conservative religious and political messages out there."

I am sending you a "PM" because I really feel that somebody needs to help you understand what this forum is for, and what it is "NOT" for! Please do not be offended by my "PM" but please try to understand what I am trying to say, and why!

You are right,....but in the wrong place!

Harold, I was inclined to post much the same message as you, until I read Joseph's last paragraph. Methinks he was merely making a very effective point, but in the end agrees that politics and religion do, indeed, belong in other forums than this.

Joseph - as Chris pointed out, I may have missed the point of your post and if so, my apology,.....harold

I have been up to my ears with a '30 AA that refuses to fire (and after 1.5 days of monkeying with her - she still won't fire), so I haven't read the Form since last Friday. Cannot believe I missed a thread on on tattoos!!! Eh - miss a little, miss a lot.
