How does one remove the metal strips covering the body seams on the back of a 23 Runabout? In searching the forum I couldn't find a clear answer.
A Google search of "body seam strips mtfca" revealed these older threads:
The metal strips are spot-welded to the side edges of the real panel. It will be a lot of thankless effort to try to actually remove them.
If you want to remove the back panel (with strips), you will need to remove the top where it is nailed into the back seat upper rail, the nails across the top edge of the back that are now exposed, the 12 or so special 1/4-20 bolt/screws along both sides (behind the seat back), and then remove all of the nails that are in the bottom, holding the back to the trunk floor.
