Are you bragging?
Or Complaining?
travelling I-10 across the Big T takes a long time, but not as long as the Al-Can

G.R. you are right about that! Been through TX on I-10 and thought we'd never get through it!! Sooo many cows, sooo many oil wells. We actually did the 10,20,30 route. Took 4 tries to get off 20 and onto 30 the first time! Poorly marked. At least it was back in the early 90s.

I absolutely love Texas .....

But if you had told me a month ago I would be delivering (4) T's there in the span of a few weeks - I would've told you you were nuts ...

I get to Texas maybe once a year if I am lucky on average.

I guess it just shows there is no pattern to where T's are being bought and sold.

What I like about Texas is the people. They have a Texas attitude that you don't see anywhere else!

I'm Texas born and raised. I did some car travel in New England some years ago and was amazed at how quickly you cross state lines. Texas has counties that are bigger than some New England states.

Texarkana to El Paso takes all day by car.

A Texas cattle rancher met a Wisconsin dairy farmer at a cattle convention in Omaha. The two men discussed the similarities and differences in their operations.

Texas cattleman: "Why, sometimes I climb in my pickup in the morning and drive all day; if I'm lucky, I can drive out through my west gate and onto the hiway right about sundown."

Wisconsin dairyman answered: "Yeah, I had a pickup like once myself."

Thanks for the complement, Larry. at least I took it as a complement, although maybe it was not meant to be. Texans who are not tied to a work job or schedule, tend to be easy going, happy, friendly and helpful, as long as you don't catch one having a bad day!

Closer from Dalhart to Canada than Dalhart to Brownsville. Closer from El Paso to LA than El Paso to Texarkana. Closer to Atlantic Ocean from Texarkana than to El Paso. You can take the boy out of Texas but the Texas cannot be taken out of the boy....Gary, NATIVE TEXAN. LOL!

Dick, your tale reminded me of another. A Texan visiting an Australian sheep station was bragging about how they sent out a young boundary rider once and he came back just in time for his 65th Birthday party.

The station owner then pointed out a young stockman just riding in and informed the Texan that he had just finished riding their boundary that day, a ride started by his grandfather!

Allan from down under.

The undertaker enters the bar, tells the bartender "I need a drink. Getting this Texan ready to bury has about worn me out." He pulls out a matchbox, slides it open, and there's the Texan all laid out, 10 gallon hat and all. The bartender says "my gosh! How did you get him into the matchbox?'' "Why I just gave him an enema!!"

They say Beverly Hills California was named for Beverly Hills Texas, but there is no resemblance except for the name!
