I have a 27 Coupe and My Transmission has been apart for a long time so I don't know if the low speed Band and the reverse Band are identical and if they can be installed on either drum ..also is 20w- 50 motor oil a good weight oil for a 27 T with quite a lot of miles on it ??Thanks for any help ... Joe

Low and reverse bands interchange. 20W-50 may be OK depending on where you are.

20W-50 is gonna be a tough pull on a starter crank if anywhere close to cool weather. Of course there are plenty of folks who insist on straight 30. I'd recommend 5W-30.

I run straight 30W year round but jack up a wheel to start when cold. I got tired of all the oil on the garage floor using anything lighter. Even when I lived in NY I never had trouble starting my non-starter cars in the winter jacking up a wheel. Frankly, I don't think it makes much difference what oil you use. As long as it works for you I am sure the T won't mind!

I run 20/50 full syntec. Tried to start in 30deg temp we were having and no issues. Fired right up. Syntec doesn't thicken up in cold temps, Dino oil will. Just be sure to check Zinc content and wet clutch compatibility
