Does anyone have the correct width of the pinstripe and location where it goes on a 12 touring? A picture would be great!
Different stripers produced different widths of stripes. Also, the pattern might vary from one striper to the next. Generally, the stripe was laid down inside the bead detail of the body. Again, the distance from the bead varied but I prefer about 1/4" to 3/8" from the inside edge of the bead. Also, I prefer a fine stripe like about 1/8". Generally, on a 1912, only the body, hood and wheels were striped. No stripe on the chassis or fenders. Again, this may vary depending on if your "'12" car was produced early or later in the model year.
If you'd like, I can scan a side and top view of the '12 touring from original '12 literature and e-mail it to you. It shows very nicely the striping pattern.
