I recently purchased a locking "Fox" steering wheel. Key was not available. I thought all I had to do was take it to a locksmith and "presto" my problem would be solved. Not so. I need a "FOX" key blank. Does anyone out there know where one can be obtained? Thanking you in advance, Rudd.

I also have a fox and lost the key in an Ivy patch. I took the wheel to a local locksmith and he made a new one. This is whats on the new key. 'The Independent Lock Co, Fitchsure, Mass, No. CC' The spelling of the city might be off, it's hard to read.

Good lock,
Doug

Hi Doug, Thanks for the name of the key blank. I've had a number of responses. Terry Woods has offered to send one out to me and Alf Timms (fellow Canadian) has offered to make me one. Thanks for you help. Dave.

ILCO is a big lock manufacturer, they make locks and key blanks.

Look on the one the smith made for you. Somewhere there will be a number (like 22a or something)or a letter code (the ones on our door keys at work are a "c") - that's the key blank number, and with that you can tell *any* locksmith it's a key cut on a (whatever number)ILCO blank.
