It seems that this may be the best attended Montana 500 since the mid-80's. I will try to post results if I can. Tom

DISPLAY:

I left Berthoud, Colorado on June 3rd and arrived at Bozeman, Montana that evening. We stayed in one of Bozeman's Campgrounds and then went to Bozeman Ford & RV Super Store. The store is a giant Ford and RV dealer ship. We pulled up right in front of the main door into the dealership and parked with our motor home and trailer with our T. I went inside and went to the main desk and asked the clerk for Roger Berverage (our contact). Just then Roger was walking by and introduced himself. I had made a previous arrangement to store my T in Bozeman until the 500. I was suprised when Roger told me that they were going to display it in the center of their main floor. I unloaded the T and soon had it inside on the show room floor. It wasn't long before emplyees were gathered around it. The dealership already had displays out for the Ford Centennial as well as their one year celabration. Roger is a died in the wool T man with an 11 touring and a 14 Roadster, and will driving in the 500. The owner has just recently bought a 26 roadster and will also be going along on the 500 in the tour class.

BACKGROUND;

It was interesting to me that Bozeman Ford and RV donated the perpetual Montana 500 trophy back in 1961. They are now sponsering much of the 500 this year, 42 years later. I hope a lot of Model T people will attend the one year celabration in their new dealership and see a lot of early Fords. You are also invited to watch the inspection and sealing of motors, windshields and carburetors of the 500 trophy cars before the race on Sunday the 22nd of June. The tour cars going along on the 500 of course will not be inspected or sealed.

Other communities in Montana have expressed interest in holding future Montana 500's. The renewed community interest in this is refreshing. Tom

RESTRICTOR PLATES:

Tom: That would be great. Holding the Montana 500 will not only bring added revenue to the communites hosting the 500 but the state of Montana as a whole.

I forgot to add in my post above, that anyone interested in Model Ts are welcome to watch not only the inspection and sealing on Sunday the 22nd but also the installation of the restrictor plates.
