By john kuehn on Sunday, January 15, 2017 - 03:20 pm:I am trying to find a good shop in the Cen-Tex (Texas) area that will do a good T radiator recore. The shop in Dallas closed or either changed its name. I'd like to find a shop that's not afraid of working on the older stuff as they say.
I have a 1919 Roadster that needs one.

He would probably recore your radiator if he has access to a new core. If not, you might have to supply the core. PM me if you want his shop name and number.

Core prices I've found on the net are close to half or more than the cost of a new flat tube replacement radiator which is around 800.00. Mac's is the only supplier that sells a flat tube T radiator for the 17-22 low cowl cars that's sells for 710.00. Yes I already know about Macs.
But I wonder who the supplier is that Macs gets the replacement T radiators from and if there's anybody that's bought one.

They have done lots of T gas tanks and should have no problem with your radiator. They are in Waller, TX near Houston.

But for a black era car I go with a new Berg's. I've seen gripes that the Berg radiators aren't exactly like the originals, but they work great and they're hidden by the shell and the hood.

Cant understand about Bergs not looking original enough. Folks that use water pumps, distributors, and a few other things must lose out in the 'not original' category also. To each his own I guess.
