Interesting street view. Looks like the phone co. office was on the left, judging
by the "break irons" seen on all the circuits of the crossarms. The two-pin holding
iron bars allowed the circuit to be broken in each direction and dropped into the
exchange building, where operators ran the switchboards.
"Hello, operator ? Can you connect me to Glendale six-one-nine, please ?"
