Got some slop and play in my two rods somewhere in the linkage, so want to play with them today prior to the game.

Presume throttle rod should be all the way up at idle and then almost immediately start increasing rpm as the rod is lowered down the steering wheel backing plate. Correct?

Timing rod. Do I center the timer cover attachment hole at the top of the engine and then find the center of my backing plate and connect so that I have equal travel advance and retard?
