At the MTFCA 52nd Annual Meeting held this past weekend in Billings, Montana, DEAN YODER was announced as the recipient of this year's Ben Yumori Driving Award!
The Ben Yumori Driving Award is given in memory of the late Ben Yumori, who believed that driving a Model T and sharing it with others is the best way to promote the carís history and promote the hobby.
Eric Sayer and Jennifer Hubenthal, who was Ben Yumori's adopted granddaughter, presented the award to Dean.
Most who have been around the hobby, have either heard of Dean, met him, or conversed with him on the Forum from time to time. Dean has an infinite love for family, friends, and his travels in a Model T. Logging over 20,000 miles per year, with daily averages at times of over 470 miles he has traveled to every state including Alaska at least once minus Hawaii, and several Canadian Provinces. He is constantly posting pictures of his travels online of amazing sights and people he meets along the way. He drives to tours no matter where they are and once he was recognized in Florida for driving over 6,000 miles to their tour. Most times he heads out just for the love of the open road, and the noise of that Clattering, Rattling, Masterpiece of a Model T Ford.
Please join us in congratulating Dean on being presented with this prestigious award!
A very well deserved recognition. Congratulations Dean !
Makes perfect sense. Congratulations Dean!

Hope that you continue to enjoy Happy Trails for years to come.

For Bill, since you asked so nicely...
Congratulations Dean. Hope to see you again this summer.
Thank You! Bill
something to aspire too congrats!!!
Hearty congratulations, Dean! Now they have to retire the trophy, because whoever were to win it in the future wouldn't have nearly the driving record you do!
Good for you! You richly deserve this award honoring the legend Ben Yumori! What's next?
At Chickasha a couple of weeks ago, fixin' to hit the road again. No trailer these days.
Congratulations Dean a very well chosen award for you. Keep on going.
Congrats Dean!! Keep On Driving........
Congratulations are in order for your well deserved recognition. Well done!
And Dean isn't just a great T guy. He's had his hands in the innards of four Model K engines too. Thanks to Dean two of these exquisite creatures routinely prowl the tour circuits:

Congratulations, Dean! You certainly are deserving for this wonderful award.
Congrats Dean : We met at Hershey in the shopping center parking lot (I bought the Stromberg), and I was more than impressed with your "camper" and all the innovations as well as quick tour of the vehicle and its history. Congrats again : Bruce
Congratulations Dean! A well deserved award.
We met at Hershey as well at your "Camper".
Dean, there is no one that deserves this award more than you! Congrats. Steve Ellis
Congratulations Dean. You are certainly deserving for the award !! It is nice to see all the photos of you and your car. I knew Ben well. He was a wonderful person.
Congrats Dean, love your shop coat.
I rode with Dean in his T during the HCCA National Tour in OKC, just before the Chickasha swap meet. Here's his current car (pickup):
The rig with the trailer which he drove for many years has been replaced by this pickup. The bed has a fold-out extension so he can sleep in it. Dean says it's more convenient not having to drag a trailer around.
Dean's car wasn't "legal" for an HCCA tour, since it's a '25 and the HCCA cutoff is '15 and earlier. We were supposed to be driving a '10 Tourabout on loan from an HCCA member, but at the last minute it proved not to be tour-worthy. So Dean and I rode the tour for 3 days in his '25. The HCCA folks were very gracious; we didn't hear any complaints about his using a "modern" car for the tour.
Congrats on receiving this prestigious award, Buddy. There is no one on this planet more deserving of it.
