Does anyone have a diagram of the mounting for the radiator on a 1917 ? I think it shouldn't have the cups and springs line the later m models as it has smaller holes in the radiator shroud. But I am not sure.

You are correct - 1917 does not use cups and springs. A washer and nickel plated castle nut are used.
