OUR JOURNEY IS ONLY 10 DAYS AWAY!

On Sunday, May 7, we will be departing from Times Square, New York City, in a 1926 Model T Speedster. Our destination? San Francisco via the Lincoln Highway. We estimate the 3,400-mile journey will take 16 to 21 days.
You can follow our travels on a dedicated FaceBook Page: Ford Model T Coast to Coast, which is also the title of the book that will be published in 2018.
We'll be making daily posts with photos and videos.
If you have any suggestions on points of interest or unique lodging experiences along the Lincoln Highway, let us know.
And wish us luck!

Tom, is this a solo trip for you or are other Model Ts going.

The 1984 New York City to Seattle, Washington trip was organized by Cliff Jenkins, who lives in Maryland.

Some of those drivers also drove their cars back to Maryland.

I woke one of those cars up from its long winter nap last weekend and then took a 6 mile ride in it to prove it is still running well.

Many of us do not do Facebook or any of the other 400 + social network websites for good reasons.

We will have to wait for the book!

Tom, if that car was a boat, I would label it a little less than sea-worthy.

Fenders are required in many states, like the mud flaps on 18-wheelers.

Take along a gallon or more of sun tan oil, if you have no top.

Not to rain on your trip, but do you recall a movie about a guy with 8 children that works all the time on a sail boat for a trip around the world. He finally leaves port and his wife and children are all on the dock, very happy, smiling and waving good bye. He gets out in the bay and a large ship hits his boat and cuts it in two. Thankfully, he was not injured. Then the last scene shows the same family on the dock, all crying and very sad. The suggestion is that they are only sad because he is coming right back home.

Tom, a big fan of your other books.

Might I make a suggestion to post some updates here for those of us that don't use Facebook?

Will be interesting to watch what events take place during his journey. He's apparently well versed with "modern" vehicles...
