So I'm going thru my mag (bosch DR4) and found the rotor to be melted and frozen in place. I was able to get it out in 2 pieces but considering how I want to drive this car I'm going to need a new one and therefore most likely build one. The original uses a brush alongside the housing or what would be the "cap"

Is a brush needed or would a more modern style that comes close be ok?

The rotor is a long rod with a conductive brass rod that makes a 90 degree turn and holds the brush. I have been thinking to reproduce I take a brass rod and make the conductive part then wrap it in fiberglass. Once set I turn the fiberglass down to the right size on my lathe using the brass rod to center it. Once done and cut undersize I seal with epoxy and turn down to exact size.

Any idea if this has been tried?
