Just a FYI.
With help from friends I was able to track down the fuel starvation problem.
It was not the fuel tank or the line or the carburetor.

It was a loose wire to the ammeter. Reconnect the wire with a nylon nut and now it seems to be back to normal. (What ever normal is).
