It was my honor to take this WWII Navy veteran to lunch in a Model T. He told me that his first car was a Model T when he lived in Coffeeville, Kansas. He and two of his buddys pooled $14.00 to buy the car, which they took turns driving to school.

I highly suggest that you should read the book Killing of the Rising Sun. A very interesting telling of the horrors of war in the Pacific in WW Two. Many Thanks to all of you who put their life on the line in the service to our GREAT country.

A little drift:

Although I did serve in the USN, it was 1968-72, I was 20-24 years old at the time. Recently my wife and I were in Hawaii. While we were there we visited the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. I purchased a shirt with "USS Arizona" and a profile of the Arizona stitched on it.

Every time I wear that shirt people say to me, "Thank you for your service". It's really unsettling. Are folks really so out of touch. I wasn't born until 6 years after the attack n Pearl Harbor.

P.S. No, I'm nearly 70 and I do NOT look over 95.
