Model T garage in Huron Ohio. Actually looks like a print. The left side of building eventually became a kitchen cabinet company, my childhood doctors office was in the far right door, up the stairs when he was new in practice.
Hm - caption claims it is an Oldsmobile dealer?
Ha ha..yeh you're right! Coulda swore it said both. Oh well. Still a neat pic. The wife found it for me.
Nice color treatment for that era.
Is that a Huppmobile coming out of the garage?
Does the building still stand?
Are the cars still there?
The Touring in the street looks like a Chevrolet. Hard to tell. These type processed photos lose a lot of the detail. They were black and white photos, low resolution (or processed to satisfy the low resolution printing that the card was allowed).
Sometimes, the colorized photos from that era were amazing! Sometimes they are like this. Three colors, very broad strokes, only a fair job of following the details.
Still, a wonderful view into the past! Thank you.
Sometimes you can find more versions of the same photo with more details, and maybe even a better colorized version. Many such photos were taken by professional photographers and marketed for several uses.
David...yes the building is still there.
Cool old build and better cars. Tim
I just got back from visiting Randall Anderson in New York, and he showed me the Ford building in Jamestown N.Y. It could be brought back to original very easily. BTW, the old Ford assembly plant in L.A. is being renovated, and is supposed to be reopened next year. It still has the old water tank on the roof.
