Hey Dennis, Way to go!! My neighbor and friend Tony in 2nd place. I wanted to come over to Butte today and watch you guys do the turnaround but I couldn't take the time from the carb work. Maybe next year.
Tony, I'm still working on a couple NH ideas for Dennis, maybe we can figure one out for you that will pick up those 2 seconds. Of course, next year he will be even faster. Hmmmmm.
Sounds very intense!
Looks like all the usual players at the top of the table! What happened Bill??? Top of the leaderboard down to 9th? Safe racing to the end!
Dennis--So nice to see that you finished First the Second day! I meant it when the last time I saw you that I told you it was time an IOWA boy won this! Good luck! Bill
Can you guys post some pictures of the cars and drivers?
Dennis, Good Luck!!!
I think the next time I need a engine build I'm going to ask one of those guys to do the work, If they can make a T engine run 55 mph for hours and hours then my engine would last three life times at 35!
The #4 upper coil box coil contact broke off & fell down inside coil box.Did a bailing wire fix went about three miles & #3 did same thing. To much time lost to make up.Ran better third day. That's part of the Montana 500.
Will - I was thinking the same thing just don't ask for the same cam setting.
Congratulations to Dennis Powers winner of the 2017 Montana 500!

WOW!!! Congratulations to Dennis and ALL.
A better than 54.5 MPH AVERAGE for all 581 miles! Pretty impressive and I know some of this was on some side roads and not all interstate.
Only 4 of the 22 cars didn't make the total 581 miles. That's pretty good for wide open running.
Looks like it was almost a photo finish.
Thanks to all the time keeper Starter and the rest that work to put this on each year!
See ya Next Year
Congrats Dennis!! Just knew an ole Iowa Boy would do it! Proud of you! Bill
Wormy looks forward to all this nonsense being over.
So I wonder what the max RPM was on the fastest car during the race?
I've had mine recorded at just shy of 2800 once.
I would like to thank some are sponsors
