Now I am wondering about how do you check for oil flow to the front of the engine?

Take out one of the screws which hold the front of inspection plate. Put a pan under it and start the engine. Oil should flow out while the engine is running. The one on the right is under the inside oil line and the one on the left is under the outside line, if you are using the magneto oiler or other left side line.

Take the oil fill cap off, with the engine running at a fast idle you should see some oil splat against the timing cover.

If you want to check oil "circulation" back at the bands, just remove the access cover and start the engine... Make sure you have at least two bushel baskets of rags nearby, and you have the next three hours free..... It's also a good idea if the wife isn't watching (although she did get a big laugh out of it........)

Don't do what Joe said! You might get oil in your eyes!
