What would be the thickness of the floorboard? Mine is a 1920 Runabout. Many thanks!
Fun Projects has a print on this which specifies 9/16". The floorboards in my 1913 runabout are 5/8". Not a lot of difference. Check the depth of the rebate in the body sills to double-check.
Can I get a rebate on floor boards or do I have to go outside on recess? :-)
Used 5/8" poplar.
rebate will be 3/4- on main sills 1/8 for floor mat. 5/16 at heel board. 5/8 is right for floor boards charley
Hmm. My floor mat covers the sills and the toe-board risers . . .
on a 13 you would be covering the brass plates and you wont want that. charley
i just checked 3/4 deep thur 1925.i think they made the new mats wider than org. charley
Floor boards are 9/16" thick, not 5/8". If you make them 5/8" your going to have a hard time getting the pedal trim to fit right as the tabs have to bend down over the bottom edge.
Going from memory, there was a short time around 1925ish that they opened up the tolerance to include 5/8" but that didn't last long and they changed it back. I think the first of the 3 pedal 1909 floor boards were 5/8" but it changed to 9/16" very early.
Early floor boards were ash. Later they opened up the spec to include just about anything.
