How much travel should a commutator have from retard to full advance?
Let’s say it is set at the 2.5 inch when retarded where should the rod be at full advance or how many degrees should the commutator move?
Thanks
Gerald
I'll have to check later but it seems someone told me it had 45 degrees of movement.
Just as an example: For automatic operation of the modern accessory E-timer 0.90"+ travel of the commutator is needed.
40 degrees at the camshaft.
Many times the timer pull rod lever is loose on the spark lever rod and you will not get this amount of travel.

I was about to question the total distance that the Commutator
