Can someone post a picture of 15-16 oval top irons where the Y connects to the body? I Have a set that I suspect something is wrong with hinge connection.

The big prop nut is available from the parts dealers. The rivet isn't, so I made this one from a bolt.

The removable hitch pin is certainly convenient, but didn't Ford originally use a straighter pin, held to the socket with a short leather strap and screw?

When the square sockets were introduced in the 1918 model year, the pin clipped around the socket. No leather strap. Note that the Langs description is incorrect - not correct for 1917.

Erik is right; we have them, but for '17 the T-head cotter pin was nickel plated. We'll be doing a run of those this fall.

He'a also correct that the leather straps ("key strap assemblies", Ford called them) were only used on the oval sockets. The square ones used the formed wire clip.

Are these self tapping screws? My socket has a hole for the screw, but the hole doesn't appear to be threaded.
