Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2017: Post Your Swap Spaces for 2017 Hershey Here!
Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Mark Strange - Hillsboro, MO on Friday, August 25, 2017 - 06:45 pm:

Steve Hammatt's recent Hershey post reminded me to start this thread, where folks can post what swap spots they have reserved for 2017 Hershey. If you know a light pole number near your spot, please post that as well.

I won't have a spot, but I will be printing out a map of each field and marking them up to highlight each of the Model T vendors and sellers and using it to guide my wanderings.

Thanks! :-)

Stop by and visit me at GCC 5-6. Thats just sorta across from the crab cake vendor over by Giant Center. We're just a few steps from the AACA merchandise and membership spots there. This year I promise I'll spend more time at my spaces as I'm trying to mend a broken leg. Probably won't be walking as fast and furious looking for goodies so this is your chance go get ahead of me this year. Just bring me some good old spark plug for my collection. Will have smaller selection of stuff than usual but still will probably bring some interesting brassy stuff and automobilia as well as the usual T items. Having a goal like Hershey will help me mend the leg. Stay off of ladders. Ask me how I know.
Terry

I've been thinking about this for last couple of years. So with more and more smart phones, I think it might work. If you need a "REALLY RARE" part, place an ad in the Harrisburg Craig's wanted section the week before Hershey. And as the word get around the seller can contact you with there space number.

BTW, the MTFCA Club spaces are in my name as I'm a member of the AACA also.

Isn't it amazing that the old car hobby in general and the Model T in particular can still attract thousands of guys that can't wait till Hershey each year to re-connect with the dozens of car buddies all anxious to find that elusive part as well as visit with friends. I've had four Model Ts in the last 20 years and each tome I sold one, I promised myself that never again would I get caught up in another......well after a few years of being "T- less" each time, the bug came back (three times) and I'm glad it did. I started in the late 60's doing Model As, moved to Thunderbirds, then Mustangs followed by early V8s and finally back to the good ol' "T". Nothing better than owning a piece of history that you can enjoy and share the experience with others, and this forum is a major reason that this can occur. See Y'all at Hershey. Cheers : Bruce

I have an original "Retail Buyers Order" dated June 14 1919
for a Touring Car The price of which is $525 and delivery charges of $21.05 and a required $25.00 deposit. the bottom of this document indicates that a war tax of 5% has been levied on all automobiles amounting to $21.66 (? the math)
The number 2968414 is hand written on the back and I can't help but wonder if this could be the engine # ? If you have an interest I'm at C4F-19-22 in the Chocolate Field North by light pole 45.
