Silver Streak and the story of the Gypsy Coeds will be told at The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan, September 8-10.
Thought I would give you a little update. September 8-9-10 is the "Old Car Festival" at Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford Museum. We filled out an application in early June and learned in the middle of July that the Silver Streak had been accepted for the show. Then in mid-August I received an email asking if I would be willing to make a presentation about the Gypsy Coeds and the Silver Streak. Of course! The brochure for the event lists my presentation as 1:00pm on Sunday the 10th, which is a typo and has been corrected to 11:30 am on the 10th. The Old Car festival is not like your typical car show. We get to drive around on the streets of Greenfield Village, rather than simply being parked in a spot for the whole weekend.
We're looking forward to an exciting weekend!
I was able to work and drive this car before it went to it's new home. It has quite a history. Google mtfca; silver streak or gypsy coeds. You can also try same words without the mtfca. If you are able to make it to the John's presentation I think you will enjoy it.
Should add, I received the above from John the current caretaker of the Silver Streak.
Silver Streak? That was popular on campuses in the 70's... :-)
