A mate and I had the totally unenviable task of helping clean out big collection of T stuff. Among some tools were these.
They are Stevens tools 'spintite' nutrunners. The #5 size fits T coil hardware.
These are two spark plug wrenches. I have seen the thistle forge mark but have never seen the likes of the other. It is also on the underside of the wrench.
There were three of these tyre levers.
Allan from down under.
Nice finds Allan. :-)
The spintite nutrunners: They knocked me over when I saw them, looking thru a digital Stevens catalog.
Nut drivers back then? I guess so! Ford does say to "run the nut up" I do believe.
I have some pretty old nut drivers but they sure don't have wooden handles.
Very nice finds to this fellow.
Thanks for posting. :-)
Those sure are in great condition !
Great finds Allan. You may already know that the thistle mark is McKinnon Industries, Ontario. They were one supplier for Ford Canada but became part of GM Canada in 1929, supplying engines, gearboxes etc. The tyre levers marked Made in Canada are very hard to find & I do not know who the supplier was.
Does anyone know who made Canadian Ford tools with either the 'E' or 'E' encircled?
