Here are a few pictures from the 2017 Stonewall Country Tour in central West Virginia. These are from the first three days. It finishes up tomorrow on Sept. 20. About 28 cars and over 60 folks from several states including WV, IN, OH, FL, PA. and others.
Sunday visit to Robert Johnston's large tractor, car, and farm equipment collection. Over 100 tractors and equipment.

Monday visits to Historic Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum the largest hand cut sandstone building in North America and the 2nd largest in the world second only to the Kremlin.

Guides in period correct costume showing the civil war constructed section of the building.

Also visited Stonewall Jackson Dam

AND...Jackson's Mill the State 4H Camp and retreat center operated by West Virginia University. The boyhood home of General Stonewall Jackson.

AND Paper Marbling demonstration by nationally known artisan John Belic.

Tuesday touring included:
Visit to Ron Hinkle Glass with demonstration of glass blowing

AND..tour of the Annamede Mansion also known as the Davisson-Blair farm.

And of course Ice Cream served on the porch of the Mansion before calling it a day.

Last day tomorrow (Wednesday).

Bill, thanks for posting such good sights we visited, good roads, good weather and many thanks to Jim Bailey and his crew for a great W V tour for the morning coffee breaks & the the evening Ice Cream breaks. What more could you ask for after a nice T drive on country roads in Wild Wonderful West Virginia.

Beautiful pictures and beautiful Model Ts. Stonewall Jackson ?!?! He was one of those bad Confederates, wasn't he? They'll probably want to tear down his mill and birthplace. Heck, some of the knee jerk snowflakes want Sara Lee products removed from grocery shelves because she might be related to Robert E Lee..
