The gasket for the float needle seems too hard. Does anyone soak or treat them in anyway so they will be a little softer?
Thanks
Stan Howe recommends making a lead gasket from a wheel weight (make sure it's not zinc) or a fishing sinker. The kit gaskets are indeed very hard and may not seal.
I stated making them out of lead after it was suggested here. Wheel or fishing weight, beat to about same thickness then use hole punches to make one.
That should read "I started" not I stated.
Sheet lead will work too. Beating it will help make it soft. You want to aim for same overall thickness on the gasket you punch out. Even if it's not perfect, it should be soft enough to conform and seal.
