I have looked thru my books for the torque value for rod and main bearings (14 touring, if it makes a difference) but can only find torque for a certain size bolt. Any one know what the torque settings are or what do you use? Just wanted to know before I remove my caps to check wear. Thanks
Jerry

As far as Ford was concerned, there was no torque settings back in the day but some use values by bolt size charts of today, I still do all bolts/nuts by feel and cotter pin alignment, that way nothing gets striped, broken or pulled threads.

Rod bolts at 30 foot pounds, and then, pull for the key hole.

Main bolts 80 pounds, and pull for the key hole.

Herm.
