I really like the look of a tan top on a black Roadster, Bob. If my Pickup didn't have such a nice top on it now, I would be be having one made by a marine boat-top shop with Sunbrella material, with a roll up rear panel, to let the heat blow thru on a hot day. My top is black Sunbrella now.

Classtique has been known to make anything from any of their material offerings...if you ask nice.

Recall Old Joe, the guy who I finished his 27 Fordor for? He was adamant that he wanted some real serious non-T mohair...I put him in touch with Classtique and they took care of making up a kit that fit perfectly but looked more like a Persian rug :-).

They do it for interiors, might do you a roof kit using Model A tan?

Bob our colonial bodied cars had canvas tops as an option. Unless you are looking for a made-up top kit, you could have a trim shop make it up in whatever colour you might find suits you.

I sure wish I had something substantial to offer here.
The Runabouts pictured are very smart looking! Wow.
Dallas, that's gonna look nice on that ol' bugger!
I'd like to know how a tan top would look on an 18. ;-) But I do beg to be different.
Crazy or no, keep us updated Bob! :-) What color is your 26?

I have wanted to do a tan top for years---actually just wish I have had a top in general. I have two main reasons:

1) It would be cooler in the sun.

2) It would go well with our natural wood pickup box and spokes.

I have most the pieces now I can probably put a top together, I may just look into tan canvas. Not like my truck is original (although I try to keep it in the spirit of a stock T).

These three of my cars have canvas tops of light sand colour. The canvas has a % of poly in the weave, which helps to reduce shrinkage, important when fitting side curtains. All are custom made as the bodies are made by dofferent builders.

I have noticed some original cars had black tops but inside looking up it is tan. My 13 is like this but I don't see new tops made this way. Anyone else notice this?
