Looks the same as my 26-7 coupe. Connects sub-frame "rails" to firewall and without it there would be a 1" gap as the end of the rail does not butt up.

It is actually an early 1926 floor board riser, since it does not have the little floor board latch that held the floor boards in place in late 26-27 touring's and roadsters ... Steve's cowl is also an early 26. You can see the aluminum door step plate in his photo that is typical of early 26 models.
