We are using a starter rebuild kit from the catalogs to rebuild our starter. Tonight, we discovered that the kit does not come with a copper stud. We have one that we can reuse, however, the copper band on the top of the Starter Field Coil Assembly is facing the wrong direction for the slotted copper stud. If we slide the stud onto the copper band, it will be facing the wrong direction. See the pics below of the old and the new Field Coil and you can see how the old stud attaches.
What is the solution to this trick?
go to http://modelt-tips.com. find the link for starters and watch how Nick tackles this.
I twist the copper bridge ninety degrees.
