In 1952, Art Buchwald wrote a column for the International Herald Tribune to explain Thanksgiving to the French. It has become a classic and appears every year at about this time.
Have a good holiday, everyone!
This reminds me of the "letter" that Jack Parr wanted to read on air and walked off when the network refused to allow it. Not about Thanksgiving but one of the funniest reads ever.
That was funny Dick, misc stuff deleted.
I've never seen this before. Fantastic, especially with the fractured French translations! Kilometres deboutish, indeed!
Thank you Chris!
I agree, Gilbert. I also like "pain comme un étudiant" for "bred as a scholar."
The truth hurts!
I would just like to say that I am thankful for the guys and gals here on the forum that have helped us this past year. Cheers.
Now that there's funny right there, I don't care who you are. Thanks, Dick, and happy Thanksgiving.
I' m thankful that I live in a country that allows me to be thankful and to share it with others. This time of year is the most positive time of the year besides Christmas.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
