A while back, I was asked by some folks involved with the sports activities at Kingsford Schools to help find a Model T to use as a mascot for the Kingsford Flivvers, as they are known. A local family had a mid 20,s Model T with a home made truck body that was painted blue and yellow, Flivver school colors. They used it in local parades for many years. They decided to donate it to the schools. A small group of use looked for a Touring car body, as is the Flivver logo, to replace the truck body. We realized we would not be able to acquire an early body as the logo dictates. This was being funded by donations so money was an issue. I was approached by a person last Christmas time about donating a 23 T Touring to our local museum. I put this person together we the school folks. They donated the 23 T to the schools. A friend of mine tore it down and painted it. Not a running car, static display only. All 1,800 Kingsford school students were on hand for the unveiling. A special place was built between the Middle school, and the High School to be displayed. It was fun being involved with this project. It is believed that this is the only school in the country that has an automobile as a mascot. If you don't like the color combo, that's too bad, LOL, oh, the Model T Truck is in the middle school library for the kids to sit on and read.
Here is the Model T truck in the Kingsford Elementary School library.
Spectacular! Well done.
That is really cool! And great for the kids too.
Way to go GUY. She looks great.
Maybe they need to update their fliver mascot logo...
I'm sure that one day somebody at the high school will catch a vision to make it operational and train a new generation of Model T mechanics.
Fantastic! Such lucky kids too!
