Have a friend who has replaced a set of bands with Scandinavia material. His first time. I told him to riivot both ends and work the access into the middle. He started on one end and worked to the other end. Some excess is out of course. What are going to be the consequences? The hogs head is back on. Should he leave them if they will tighten down on the drums? Or attempt to cut off the excess running past the metal? Or does he need to start over????

Remove and re-rivet, linings will last longer. jb

You told him the correct way. The way he did it, the lining will not be tight to the band. There should be a little over hang at each end, if the bands are long enough.
