It's a well known photo.

It was a car that was assembled for the Selden patent trial.

I believe that's the car from the Selden case, in which Ford and his engineers built an 1860's Lenoir engine and installed it in a Model C chassis. This was done to demonstrate that the art preceded Selden's claims. As I recall, the non-compression Lenoir engine propelled the car very well and developed about 3 horsepower.
