I'll bet those tires worked real well in that snow. lol.
Before he could find out the tires didn't give much traction, the owner would first have to shovel for a while just to get to the crank - then there's the famous Model T chilblains, which might mean this Lizzie wouldn't care to start . . . maybe build a fire under the crank-case ? These hurdles overcome, the question then would be do we have enough 3/4" rope to wrap the rear tires and get some traction ? Thus outfitted, I'd expect this '13 (?) to acquit itself nobly in these conditions as many before and since have done.
Washington State plates - looks like it's parked up at one of our many passes !
Another great photo, Jay !
Good call on the plate, Steve ! Do you have a handle on the date ?
1915 or early 1916.
1915 was the first year the state of Washington issued official license plates
First year our State issued a metal plate was 1916 - had blue background w/white letters.
I would say 1914.

That picture reminded me of my years at Mich Tech in Houghton, Mi in the 1958 time frame— Lots of snow almost every day. My wife and I had purchased (and still have) a 1926 Nash sedan that sat out in the weather and looked like the above picture most of the winter. One time The trailer park owner backed into it with his snow plow truck while I was watching him plow the parking lot— that truck bounced right off the heavy spring type front bumpers and did no damage to my little car. But I was not happy with him and as a young buck had a bit of an attitude!! We spent many hours driving the back roads and old logging trails with that car in the summers. Good memories of the past for sure!!! I will try to post a picture later. Joe
I wonder what kind of "Snow Load" those tops will support?
Snow was made for Model T's.
I think it's a '13. The windshield support rods don't stick out.
Joseph,
Nice to see another Michigan Tech Husky on the site. I also have my fair share of snow stories.
John
Hi John, nice to meet you. I also had two sons graduate from Tech. What year did you graduate and what was your chosen field? I was a ME Toot! I see from your profile that you have a 1915 Touring and by the way I Also have that same year and model. They are great cars. Have fun. Joe
I wish this photo of my car was as clear...
It was taken sometime between 1935 and 1955 when the second owner had it.
