Whacking English tuppence for ball joint shims.
"Feed the Birds---"
Mark where did that word come from?
"put it in the bank"
Tuppence or two pence or a two pennies coin...I like using thruppence because they're brass....that's threepence or a three penny coin. :P
Wow. Someone beat the crap out of that die by using it improperly ? Mark is like Batman - I have to ask where does he get all these wonderful toys ? - uh - I mean tools ?!?
Nice work on the shim !! (Where do you get Limey small change coins anyhow ?!?)
Well Mark you just blew your chances for a trip to the UK. Defacing the currency is a criminal offence and they'll have you in irons before you can clear Customs.
Jem ... my wife and I used to give workshops in England until the National Trust decided they didn’t want us to make money for their sites. I always bought these old worn coins when we went there. England is the most difficult place to conduct serious workshops. When we give them over there we get participants from all over Europe and Asia ... but not the English. Too expensive for them. Last one we have was last year in Leamington. The half Irish part of me enjoys giving English monarchs a good whack of the hammer. Just kidding ... :-)
Rich, that die block is mangled by my using it for making these shims with a hammer. It never came with the correct tool for that particular hemisphere and the outward edges don’t actually make any difference in how it works. I do have the hardened tools for the other hemispheres. Used by jewelers to make silver spheres.
