I can't make out this marking on this old T rear wire wheel hub.


Any thoughts?

Looks like what's left of Ford to me.

Thats what I thought. But I have two parts with very similar look.

Where on the hub is the mark?

Or it could be an counterfiet part with the name looking like the word Ford but spelling Fora ?

Yeah. It's a Ford logo with the top of the "d" broken off.

There's a lot of rust on that hub, and I for one think that part of the d was not stamped as deep and it rusted away. I could be wrong. About 50 years there were Model A hubcaps that said Fool which looked a lot like Ford if you made a casual glance.

I think your Model A hub caps most likely said "Bool". This avoided a copyright problem with Ford motor company. I gave My Model A wheels to a friend. I wish I had kept the Bool hubcap, they are pretty rare now.
