Hi all,
Need advice.
I want to repaint the body of my 26 tudor.
I want to pull back the edge of the top edge(welting?) prep, paint and refasten.
Is there some kind of sealant/caulk that goes in there to make it waterproof?
Why doesn't water just run in at the edge of the fabric?
Stumped newbie,
Dwight

The new top kits come with a sealant. I replaced the top on my 25 Coupe and the kit came with sealant but my car didnt use it that I know of. The top kits are from 17 thru the model A era. I believe the A's used it. Not sure on the later T's.

Cannot believe Hugh hasn't been here yet. Bet he has a thought on a perfect product.

Henry's roof sealant. You can buy it from Home Depot.

Do NOT use silicone (RTV). It will attack many top materials. A friend learned this the hard way! Windshield sealant available from glass shops seems to be safe, but test it first please. Any of the "butyl" sealants seem to be good.
