Several years ago a Model T school bus was sold on ebay. It had been used by the Francistown schools and indicated same on the side of the bus. I tried to convince my family to buy the bus because of ties to Francistown schools in the early 1900's.
Does anyone know what happened to that school bus?
Do you have a picture? It my be the TT we are restoring. Got it off ebay last year.
I don't have a picture. Unfortunately it died with my last laptop. As I recall the bus was in New England and the Francistown in question is in New Hampshire. Where did yours come from?
do you have any pictures from before you started work on it?
Sorry not good at this posting. Or adding pictures. Ronald is working on the body. You can see a picture of the bus on his post dated
2-8-09 or look up the post by his name Ronald gonsalves
I did and it looks great. I don't think it's the bus in question. The Francistown bus was original black and FRANCISTOWN was still visible on the sides. The seats were also still in the bus. They were 2 long benches, one on each side and as I recall it was not a "C" cab.
I still want a school bus. My uncle had one in his back yard that he delivered school kids in when it was new and then just used it to store "junk" in. I used to play in it as a little kid in the early '50s. When he passed away, I asked about buying it and was told that it had already been hauled off by the "scrapper". That bus was overflowing with the leftovers from Uncle Bill's life. He was born in 1888 so I can only imagine the treasures that went to the "scrapper".
Thanks for answering my query and good luck with your bus. I'd love to see it when finished....Dana
