Thanks for all the help. First I reset the timer position to the piston travel.Had to move it about 1/2" to 5/8". Started the the car and could tell it had a lot more power. Did not drive it yet. Then I wanted to make sure I had no leaks on the intake and exahust. I found a intake leak just above the back intake port, but it was the head on the top side of the copper gasket above the intake port. So I took the head off and could see a nice clean area to each intake valve. Found out the head is warped from left front to right rear over the intake port. This motor was rebuilt some 20 years ago by a main supplier of parts. This head was surfaced at that time also. Now I was having the head redone and we found a small crack in this so called rebult head. The crack went from the water jacket to a bolt hole. Not a big deal, but could leak water out the head bolt at sometime. I took three heads to the machine shop this time to be cleaned and checked for cracks and have the best one surfaced. Now just waiting for the head to be done.
The valve settings are all fine. Thanks again. Leon
Leon,
I found that the blocks also tend to warp down at the front and rear corners where the steam holes are located. Hopefully yours is OK.

This motor was surfaced also. I will be checking it. With the luck I have been having with this motor I hope it's ok. Leon
