I have a touring and I just got done ripping out the 60's retro carpet. I have been looking at the mats that Macs and synders has for that. It looks like it should be laid flat, but I have as you all may know two "bands" of wood on the door edges. Do I staple the mat over this to fit the contuor. I wish I had a example to look at a pic would be great.
Thank you in advance,
Andrew D.
You don't want to staple the mats down. There will be too many times you will need to pick up the mats to get under them. They just sit on the floor. You can always trim the sides to fit.
Andrew: If you are talking about the carpet strips with what looks like nals get rid of it. I have '19 and the rubber mats and they lay right on the floor boards Ans as Dave dont staple them down.Good luck. Agreat hobby. I am just finishing a Depot Hack, and for the rear mat I am going to a hardware store and buy some black carpet runner. Should look good against the Red Ok flooring.
