Here's another neat old accessory that I thought I would share with you all. You wind it up, put it into a full gas tank, and when the gas drops below the unit the float sets off the bell.
here is the link to goggle patent search for the unit.

I WANT ONE!!!! That is pretty cool. I wonder how many accessories were made for Model T Fords?? Any idea, Jay??
Trying to attach the Patent file here for the gasolarm, hope it works

I think it was Uncle Lefty who came up with the battery version .... yup, good ol' Uncle Lefty! Man he was smart, but I never seen him use a jackknife - not once!

I've been told that I probably need "a fire under my butt", but never considered a bell!
I saw another neat invention about a year ago that was along the same line of thinking. This one was a bell with a clapper that was built on the end of the gas cap. When there was plenty of gas in the tank it was quiet but when it got low it would allow the clapper to swing freely and strike the bell and go "Ding--Ding" as the car hit bumps. I told the widow lady that I would like to buy it if she decided to sell some of her recently deceased husband's things. Maybe I should give her a call.Joe
These gadget topics are always fun and interesting to read.
As the hair got whiter [and a bunch started to fall out]I slipped a few brain cells on memory and have been hoping someone else has a 'kodak' moment on these accessory questions.
I seem to recall that maybe 25 years ago or so there was a guy, and I think his name was Jim Keneally or something like that. He was big time into Model T accessories of the period, had a great collection, and went on to publish a book on what he had physically and what he had on paper. Was probably the most comprehensive collection.
I never bought one and imagine it might have been a very limited edition!
This ring a bell with anybody?
That is fantastic. I just cannot believe all the gadgets that were available.
Jim Kenealy is a long time member of the Puget Sound Chapter and is a friend of mine who ultimately got me hooked on accessory collecting. He published three volumes of "T" accessories books.
Hey Steve,
What's with the American Flyer Water Tower and Aircraft beacon in the bottom of your picture?

I have to share my upstairs toy room with my A.F. layout.
Ah ha!!! Another ACG "brother"! I don't have a layout right now, the "train" room is stuffed with everything that can't fit in the house while I rebuild it.
You can see some of my AF stuff here:

That's at the "old" house.

I seen the bell one before ...I was going to get one but it doesn't work for 26 coupe's.Where can the accessory books be found?
You can google James Kenealy and find his book. I found one for $81, but maybe you could bargain with the book store.
