The fourth main has a hole in it. What is the correct orientation. Does the hole go up or down.
Thanks for your help,
Brent

Brent, the 4th main mounts with the hole up. The hole lines up with the grease cup. Only one gasket is used in this assembly and it goes between the hogshead and the 4th main.
Happy New Year,

Lee,the hole is inside, so the greese cup has nothing to do with it. It is there to oil the fourth main.

Jack, thanks for the heads-up. Was I correct in it's orientation?

Yes,normally hole goes up. If you have a little play in that bearing and are having to much oil trying to go down the drive shaft, you can turn it to one side. The bearing will still oil, just not put quite as much there to cause a problem.
