There was a discussion many weeks ago about obtaining copies of videos seen on Youtube. You can save them right from Youtube and play them with RealPlayer. Instructions here: http://www.savevideodownload.com/
after download video from youtube, you can then convert the video to other format such as avi, wmv, mp4 for Ipod or cellphone, here it is : http://www.convertflvplayer.com
WARNING:
GUYS THE ABOVE SITE SAVEVIDEO ETC IS, ACCORDING TO MICROSOFT, A KNOWN TROJAN PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS "BACK DOOR" ACCESS TO YOUR PC. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO THIS. IF YOU HAVE, DO A VIRUS AND SPYWARE CLEAN UP IMMEDIATELY
Which of the two is bogus, or both ?
If yer using the Firefox browser, you can install a plugin called downloadHelper from the Mozilla.org website that will download videos for you. They have other similar plugins. You can also use Cinemaforge to convert the .flv file to other formats.
Here are a couple of websites that help you download videos too. Copy & paste the address of the webpage containing the video into the address box on either page below:

http://keepvid.com/

Grady, when you go to the savevideo link, the reported process is to paste the video link in their window to get the new link. When you click the get new link, this is when the Trojan tries to load to you PC. On the basis of this I would assume they are both as bad as each other. I didn't try the second link, didn't seem much point in further risk
Cheers
