I'm putting a roof kit in my 24 Fordor. Are any of the joints ever glued? Or are they just screwed for flexibility? The original wood didn't seemed to be glued.
Thanks,
Mike
Thou shall use no glue!
No glue. Glue is for horses... or is the other way around?
Mike the top doesn't go on till the interier is in and the headliner streached and in. Then the top bows go in and the top is applied.
Thanks, Guys!
Jack, right now I'm just putting the perimeter wood around the top the hold everything together. Once I get that done and doors fitted, we'll paint her. By the way, even the perimeter wood is turning into a challenge......
A Model A friend of mine (you know him, Jack), recently rewooded a 1930 blindback - a fairly rare car. He glued every joint with Gorilla glue even though I really tried to stop him. I knew enough about depot hacks to know that the framing has to be somewhat flexible. It's too bad too, because it could be a decent car.

Maybe when he has to redo it...
Aaaugh!! I've put all the wood in a blindback fordor, and yep, he's gonna regret that glue--and not just because the wood has to move, but becaus Gorrilla glue creaps. I personally can't stand the stuff! But then again, I still use good old hot glue at times.
