I am seeking an offical document (or best we can find)on Model T connecting rod wrist pin center of hole to crank center of hole. I want to build a line bore jig to cut newly poured Babbitt. Yes I can index off the edges on a mill but I would like to see what the offical docs indicate. It appears that when you remove old Babbitt that some of the rods vary with referance from center of hole to outer edges of rod. Overcome once Babbitt is poured and cut properly. Therefore while overcome I am curious.

Chris:
7.000" is the correct center distance for T rods ...when building your fixture you may want to consider the effect of bent or twisted rods on that distance ...pre-straighten rods then bore, then check final alignment...also make some facility to adjust center of big end in fixture and not use table traverse to adjust center position ...probably some of the most disappointing results in boring rods occur due to twisted rods ...it doesn't take much pressure to clamp twist or bend out in a good fixture ...
best regards

Gene, funny you mentioned that, one rod I was using as an example was indeed twisted.
