Guys: I went to Pate years ago before it moved to Speedway. Always lots of T parts then. Are there any at the Speedway? Went to Charlotte last week, could put all the T parts in back of my pickup. Was thinking about going to Pate or will it be a waste too? Thanks, Dan

The Lone Star MTFCA chapter has a section for club members where a lot of T parts are concentrated. There are usually two or three other vendors selling mostly T parts. After that there is just a scattering of T stuff.

I would say its worth driving 200 miles round trip. Further than that you may be disappointed.

Hi Dan, from what I understand there are some T parts but not much, Maybe someone from the Lone Star T'ers or Cowtown T'ers will chime in

The first time I went to Pate's there were two rows of stuff up by the museum. Boy did it change in later years.

Even with the monsoons and all the mud slicker than snot, the old meet at the museum was wonderful. One time there was a guy from Colorado with an old school bus full of Model T parts. After the rains, he was a Model T island. He built causeways with bales of hay so the customers could get to him. The meet at the speedway has never been as good. The last time I went was in 2004, so I don't know how it is for T parts now.

I went last year and was disappointed. I got there very early on Thursday, thinking that it would be like Chickasha--with all the good stuff selling out early. Well, the parking lot was practically empty. The vendors were not there yet. They came trickling in and the meet did not get to going good until about 10:00 or later. The place is so big, you have to either use the guide to pick out the vendors you want to visit, or walk it like a marathon. I tried the Marathon approach, and was worn out and had a migraine by 1:00.

It was reported on this forum that there were some good Model T parts there. However, I didn't find them. What I saw was lots of hot rod take off parts that no one would want, and T-Shirts. One piece of advice if you go: If you see something you want, you better buy then. Because, it is perdy dang hard to find you way back to a place you were before.

I used to go to Pate back in the old days. Twenty years ago it was a wonderful meet. It was like Chickasha, only spread over 300 acres. Now, it is not the same swap meet.

I have considered a trip to Texas for family visit when this swap meet was going on. Think I should consider another one.
