I picked up a steering column for a TT at the swap meet in K.C. the other day that has a steering wheel lock on it. On the large part of the case is "Perry" Autolock Co. Chicago Ill. Near the lockset, which is a Yale, it has Pat'd Feb 1917. Just under the steering wheel it has Uderwriters Lab Inspected. Anybody have any info on it? It looks like I might be able to restore it if I can get a key made for it. It's nickel plated brass. Thanks, Dave
Bump, antbody? Dave
Can't spell tonight, -anybody? Dave
Yale locks is still in business, I'm sure a good locksmith can get / make you a key.
Thanks Al, I figured that probably wouldn't too much of a problem. I was just wondering if anyone had info on the Perry Auto Lock Co., adds, brochures etc. Thanks guys, Dave

Thanks Dan. Just what I was looking for. Dave
Got the wheel lock off of the steering gear case, had to cut the case apart to disassemble it(case was broken anyway). Anyone know how the lock cylinder comes out. I am guessing it has to have the key in it to be removed like some ignition switches. Any ideas? Thanks, Dave
I took the entire steering column to my local lock smith, came back the next day (felt very uneasy leaving, it felt like I was leaving a child) and it was working with two new keys along with it for $15.00.
While David is getting help for his steering wheel, does anybody have any info on a Guardian Locking steering wheel.
I have one complete except for the bottom that would hold the ring contact for the horn and the part that would screw on the steering column and have the notches for the lock bolt.
Thanks for any help.
Hope your wheel works out ok, David.

Jerry, was your lock the same kind as mine?
Joe, I think it will, thanks guys. Dave
Mine was like the Perry #5 in the ad above but "Perry" dosen't sound right. I'll look today to see the brand name on mine.
The brand name on mine was "Decker".
